FIGHT FOR FOUR MARKS & MEDSTEAD
"Striving for
fair and responsible planning in Four Marks and Medstead"
|
Four Marks & Medstead continue to be under threat of
both an allocated reserve site at North of Brislands Lane and a continuing
series of windfall speculative housing developments. These are in the main
designed to miss the requirement for affordable housing and so maximise profit
for the developers.
Do you want to see our
village changed beyond recognition by lots of small housing cul-de-sac
over-developments
as well as the agreed planned developments ?
No extra facilities or utility upgrades ? No account taken of extra traffic
volumes, power and water needs, few or no new school places, or doctors & dentists
lists ?
This is happening all over England, but especially in the
South, with semi-rural and suburban areas being eaten up by high price developers using the loopholes in the planning system to develop.
Even though the government has amended PPS3 to remove private gardens
from the brownfield site definition, much of the promised change to Planning
has NOT YET been enacted or legislated.
We must resist AND GET HOUSING BUILT THAT WE NEED. We support the EHDC planning department,
and our Parish and District councillors, and we are against these
over-developments,
that are out-of-character
Although part of the EHDC Local Plan, we are being asked to accept far too
many of these windfall sites. Most housing needs are covered by the allocated
/ reserve sites in the EHDC Local Plan
(such as the new Barratt Development and North of Brisland Lane proposal).
For each in-appropriate
application we all need to object in writing
to East Hampshire District Council, Penns Place, Petersfield, Hampshire GU31
4EX, using valid planning reasons (not emotional pleas) quoting the correct
case reference code and make it clear that we object.
We need your help. Please write your valid objections and
send by letter or email
attachment
to East Hants Planning, your representative District and Parish councillors
and let them know that you object. | |
