Writing A Planning Objection Letter

  • this would be the only terrace of seven properties in Four Marks and thus totally out of character, and more suited to a town centre location
  • the parking arrangements are appalling and most likely to result in cars being parked on the busy A31Winchester Road
  • yet again Four Marks will lose bungalows to be replaced by two storey houses.
  • the tree map is not satisfactory and should be the same size as the housing site plan for direct comparison.
  • the proposed terrace of houses appears to be built directly under the tree canopy and close to the root systems.
  • this is likely to be lower priced housing than the four bedroon cul-de-sacs, and housing more appropriate to the needs of Four Marks villagers. However it is still designed to avoid any provision of affordable housing association properties.
  • the proposed density of 36 per hectare is too high and out of character with the current built environment and street scene.
  • although precedents may have been set in Winchester Road previously (# 92) these are not  applicable for planning purposes where each application should be decided on its own merits. In this case the design and density are in appropriate and should be refused.
